"TO DRAW YOU MUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND SING" — Pablo Picasso

That’s exactly what we’ll do in this Urban Sketching workshop. The focus is on freeing your line so you can express yourself without restrictions. There are no mistakes, only bold choices.

What You’ll Learn

👉 What is Urban Sketching? References, materials, and key techniques.
👉 Freeing your line: Exercises to build confidence and loosen up.
👉 Sketchbook basics: Proportions, focal points, visual flow.
👉 Color & Contrast: Light, values, color palette, watercolors, ink, and pastels.
👉 Perspective: Objects, buildings, and people in an environment.
👉 Final Field Trip: Sunday, March 23 at 1:00 PM – Take a walk around the barrio, applying what we’ve learned.
